UFO Operating Room
Fox Mulder, FBI Agent in charge of the X-Files, lies on a cold steel table. An average sized alien walks up and appears to be taking his vitals and writing them down in a strange apparatus.
MULDER
Why me? Why have you chosen me over every other human on Earth?
I'm just an ordinary guy. What do I have that's so special?
ALIEN
You are very special indeed. You were chosen for this mission because we need someone who is not afraid to die for the greater good.
Mulder notices a strange glowing symbol has just appeared on his chest: it is a
pyramid with an eye in the middle.
MULDER (cont'd)
What? What does that mean?
The alien hands him a syringe.
ALIEN
This will put you into a deep sleep.
Mulder sleeps for a while and when he wakes up, he is in an ornate office. The chair spins around and Mulder sees the head of the Illuminati sitting at the desk, it is none other than:
JAMES GORDON GODFREY, Vice President of the United States.
GODFREY
Welcome to the future, Mr. Mulder.
Mulder looks around and realizes he is in a futuristic world.
Mulder sees the following futuristic things:
1) A huge flying saucer shaped spaceship hovering above Washington D.C.
2) A man being held by soldiers on the White House lawn.
3) People in lab coats working on various experiments.
The ALIEN taps Mulder's shoulder and points towards the White House. Mulder and the Alien enter the Oval office and see Dana Scully sitting on the couch.
SCULLY
I'm glad you're here, Fox. I was worried about you.
MULDER
Me too.
SCULLY
It's weird isn't it? How much we have in common.
ALIEN
The galaxy is in danger and only you two can save it!
MULDER
I accept to be your savior!
The Alien removes his mask and shows himself. He is wearing a white lab coat. It is Dr. Arthur Grier.
SCULLY
Is that really him?
MULDER
Yes.
DR GRIER
Our galaxy is in danger of destruction from
the black hole in our outer solar system. The best way to protect the planet is to send a probe inside the black hole. If we do this, the probe will absorb all the matter that surrounds the black hole.
SCULLY
But why send a probe? Logically that makes no sense.
MULDER
I will fly the probe!
GRIER
We cannot risk it. The black hole is a million times bigger than the Earth. Even if you could survive the trip, you would never come back out.
SCULLY
Then how will I ever know what happened?
MULDER
I will send you back in time to before the probe enters the black hole. Then you will witness everything that happens.
SCULLY
How long will I be gone?
MULDER
Just three minutes.
GRIER
That's impossible.
MULDER
Dr. Grier, you don't believe in anything do you?
GRIER
No.
Before Scully can reason with him, Mulder has begun flying towards the black hole. Dr Grier and Scully look nervously at the countdown timer that is set for 3 minutes. As the seconds tick down, Mulder gets closer and closer to the black hole, and at 3 minutes the screen goes dark. Mulder is now trapped in a black hole!
INT. Flying Saucer
Mulder floats in space. He sees the Earth below him.
SCULLY
Are you okay?
MULDER
I think so.
SCULLY
You look like you've seen a ghost.
DR GRIER
I heard that Mulder's cat got eaten by an alien named Alf. That's why he joined the X-Files.
SCULLY
I didn't hear that.
DR GRIER
It's true. I'm surprised you haven't figured it out yet.
SCULLY
What do you mean?
DR GRIER
Alf was the alien. He's been hiding on Earth for years.
SCULLY
What?
DR GRIER
He's been spying on us.
Alf enters the room.
ALF
Good boy.
SCULLY
Where did you come from?
ALF
I came from the future.
SCULLY
The future?
GRIER
Alf, tell her the truth.
ALF
I'm not going to say another word until you give me a treat.
SCULLY
You're Alf?
ALF
I am Alf.
SCULLY
You're the one who sent Mulder back in time.
Dr Grier hands Alf a "treat" of jerky made from cats. Alf eats his jerky and nods.
ALF
Yes I did send him back in time, but it was just so I could
get a treat.
SCULLY
Why?
ALF
Because I'm hungry.
SCULLY
How long have you been watching us?
ALF
Ever since you moved into the house.
Alf leans in for a kiss with Scully.
She pulls away.
SCULLY
What?
ALF
I want a kiss.
SCULLY
I thought you were my friend.
ALF
I'm sorry.
A time anomaly appears in front of Scully and Mulder is tossed out.
SCULLY
Fox! Thank god you are all right! How was the future?
MULDER
I saw some things.
SCULLY
Like what?
MULDER
I saw the end of the world.
SCULLY
Wow, that sounds scary.
MULDER
It was pretty terrifying.
Mulder tells the group of the terrifying end of the world:
nuclear war, famine, and global warming.
SCULLY
How can you know these things?
MULDER
I'm from the future.
SCULLY
Oh my God!
Scully realize this is not the same Mulder but instead a different future Mulder from way further in the future.
MULDER
And it looks like it's happening.
SCULLY
How do you know?
MULDER
I went back in time and changed history.
SCULLY
You went back in time?
Mulder tells about what he has done in the past:
stopping the Soviet Union from launching the first missile in Cuba, preventing the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and saving the lives of countless people.
MULDER
It's all coming to an end now.
Mulder pulls out a gun and shoots Alf in the head.
SCULLY
What are you doing?
MULDER
I'm killing the alien.
SCULLY
You're not supposed to kill aliens.
MULDER
I'm not sure what else to do.
