You are Taylor Bentry, a documentary filmmaker invited to meet an up and coming Slasher Star Weslie Burnham and document him constructing his grisly legacy. Neither of these things are Taylor's fault. You were born into this world with no say in what kind of income you would make, or who you would fall in love with. These things just happen sometimes. You are brought along for Weslie's first kill setup. Weslie is setting traps all over the house, Home Alone style. "They're pretty basic traps," he explains. "Razor sharp pendulum blades, a shotgun rigged to fire when the door opens, that kind of thing. Nothing too fancy." You ask, "Is this like saw?" Weslie squints at you, "Did you just say saw?" "Yeah, you know, the movies where the killer..." Weslie stops what he's doing and cracks his knuckles. > You say "Sometimes you don't have a choice in who you would fall in love with" Weslie asks, "What did you say?" You nervously explain that there's this thing called a mumble core subgenre that features unlikable characters and minimal plot. Weslie asks you to setup Reindrobs Trigger happy shotgun trap on your own, he says it's easy. You're to place the shotgun under the sofa cushions, rig the trigger with a string connected to a doorbell, then ring the doorbell and hide. You read the instructions, they are surprisingly intuitive and easy to follow. You rig the shotgun trap in record time. Weslie gives you a high five and says, "There's no way he'll see that coming." You wonder if you should bring your boyfriend, Jacob. You call Jacob to come over, you tell him to knock and do NOT use the doorbell. "Do not use the doorbell," you say. "Why?" Jacob asks, "is someone at the door?" "No! Just do what I say." Jacob hangs up. Desperate, you call Jacob again. He answers, "Why can't I use the doorbel..." You yell, "NO!" then hang up. You hear a knock at the door... > You open the door, and see Jacob just as he rings the doorbell. You open the door, and see Jacob just as he rings the doorbell. You hear a shotgun blast and part of Jacob's head disappears. Weslie shows up and asks what the fuck is going on. You explain you were given specific instructions to not use the doorbell. You show Weslie your boyfriend laying on the ground. Weslie says, "Why did you open the door?" > You stop what you're doing and crack your knuckles. Weslie asks, "What the fuck are you doing?" You push Weslie into the pendulum blades that are swinging in the hallway. Weslie emerges with parts of his scalp and face gone. He growls, "Fuck!" You pick up your cell phone and call Jacob. Jacob's mom answers the phone and asks where her son is. You explain that he's laying face down in her living room with part of his head missing. Jacob's mom says, "I told him not to use the doorbell." You hear someone running around the house, you get scared and decide to start setting more doorbell shotgun traps. You hear someone running around the house, you get scared and decide to start setting more doorbell shotgun traps. You hear someone running around the house, you get scared and decide to start setting more doorbell shotgun traps. You head outside and hit the doorbell from a distance with a rock. All the shotgun traps in the house go off at once and demolish it. Your sister asks, "What the fuck did you do?" You yell, "The whole house is traps!" You hear a pounding at the front door. > You say "Ring the bell, please." The pounding gets louder. You hear a shotgun blast and part of your head disappears. Weslie shows up and asks what the fuck is going on. You say, "Did I do that?" and fall down. Weslie says, "You should really start bringing your side arm when we do these things." Weslie picks up the shotgun and places it back under the sofa cushion. You get back up and are surprised you are still alive. Weslie tells you that you can't be killed while the movie is being filmed. You insult the first A.D., but think that maybe you should get your head checked because it hurts like a sonofabitch. The moral of the story: When in doubt, just yell "SUSPENSE!" You have survived to continue to read the script, but your classmate has been killed. Pick someone else to continue if you wish or read on...
